Ride Day 18: Puerto Vallarta To Guadalajara, Mexico by Motorbike

Puerto Vallarta To Guadalajara, Mexico

Puerto Vallarta To Guadalajara, Mexico

After a few nights in Puerto Vallarta, it was time to move on and make my way across from the east to the west coast with my first stop on this journey in Guadalajara, Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta gave me a few nights to take in some tourist sights and relax a little bit before this long trip over quite a few days to Belize.

This trip would take me through many towns along the way, firstly heading north through Bucerías, Sayulita, Rincón de Guayabitos, Las Varas then west through Jala, Magdalena Municipality, Tequila, Santa Cruz del Astillero and then for a quick bite to eat in Zapopan before my final destination in Guadalajara, Mexico.

I had a good drive today, lovely weather and a nice breeze as I wove through the mountains. Some of the cities were gorgeous cobblestones, and I was beginning to love some of the artwork on brick walls in these towns. Mascota, was one that stood out and I stopped for some lunch and some light refreshments, the street food again was sensational, and I was beginning to love and look forward to the fresh tacos every time I stopped in a town when hungry.

Guadalajara

Guadalajara is a pretty big city in western Mexico. It’s famous for its tequila and mariachi music, both born in Jalisco, the state of which Guadalajara is the capital. Guadalajara’s historic center is dotted with colonial plazas and landmarks such as the neoclassical Teatro Degollado and a cathedral with twin gold spires. The Palacio del Gobierno houses famous murals by painter José Clemente Orozco. (from Wikipedia)
