Ride Day 48: Trujillo, Peru to Lima, Peru

After spending only two nights in Trujillo, Peru I had another long day riding to Lima, Peru which is where I would spend only one night.

It would take me 10 hours to get to Lima, Peru taking in around 375 miles (586 kilometers) mostly on the paved roads and hugging the South Pacific Ocean.

The ride was mostly through deserts and barren mountain ranges. It was a tough day, mainly because of the winds and also because it was a little boring with the split highways.

The ride took me from Trujillo, Peru through Chimbote where I had some breakfast, Casma District, La Gramita, Huarmey, Barranca District, Huacho, and through to my final destination in Lima, Peru.

I would stay in the Miraflores area in a lovely Airbnb apartment right near lots of restaurants and parks. I would also visit Pachacamac was an important religious centre before the arrival of Spanish conquistadors.

Lima, Peru

Lima, the capital of Peru, lies on the country’s arid Pacific coast. Though its colonial center is preserved, it’s a bustling metropolis and one of South America’s largest cities. It’s home to the Museo Larco collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museo de la Nación, tracing the history of Peru’s ancient civilizations. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th-century cathedral are the heart of old Lima Centro. From Wikipedia
