Getting across this border on my motorbike into El Salvador was supposed to me a nice riding day in the gorgeous sunshine. I headed for the Terrestre Las Chinamas border crossing at first light. I chose this border because it was supposed to be not as busy.
Guatemala by Motorbike
This was my first time in this country, and I loved it from the moment I entered the country. Going from the lush northern areas with the many archeological sites and driving through crazy mountain ranges and then going south to the volcanoes and many of the cities such as Antigua with their Spanish influences. The country has everything you could hope for, deep traditions, beautiful people, amazing food and gorgeous vistas. The country’s roads are not too bad, the security is tight in most hospices, and the people are amazing. The food is also a highlight with the many varieties depending on your location. My favorite memories all stem from the times I spent with local people and their amazing sense of purpose from working hard, cherishing education and valuing family and self-worth. It is a country I will definitely return to one day and my hope is I can discover more.
