Panama by Motorbike

Panama would prove to be a nightmare on my Motorbike. Just 20 minutes from the border it would begin raining, and it hardly stopped at all until I reached the capital. I would spend one night only in David and then move onto the capital. I was now also having problems with the bike overheating but decided to wait until I got to Cartagena Colombia to change the coolant and to get the much awaited full service, new tires and rear rim. Once I got to the capital, I decided to pop into KTM Dealer there, and we changed the coolant as it was overheating a lot more than normal. I took a ride across the Bridge of the Americas and had a few day trips to various tourist hotspots spots. I would also spend some time writing in the city and stayed right on the Panama Canal.

I also did some shopping and stock-taking of all the items I was taking with me and sent some more stuff back to Miami. The city is very modern, being a tax shelter for the rich and famous and therefore a divided city between the haves and have-nots.

The Hotel was situated right on the Canal and at night I could sit and watch the ships sail by and with some spectacular sunsets across the islands, relax with a whiskey or two and a few choice cigars.
