Steamboat Mountain, Colorado

My Archived Travels, North AmericaBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Steamboat Mountain, Colorado was where the three amigos went to learn how to snow SKi. Well Mike was already a seasoned snowboarder but Jaime and I hired an instructor for our five days there. We had a blast. Features included Jaime incessantly thinking speed was the key to a great Skier and found out the…

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. Situated along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain Zagred has a mix of old and new. We went on a bike tour and discovered some history of not only Zagreb but also the country!

Brezice, Slovenia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

I have to be honest and say the only reason I visited Brezice, Slovenia was to mark Slovenia off as a country I have visited as it wasx so close to Zagreb. We spent a day there and had lunch in Brezice

Banja Luka, Bosnia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 20142 Comments

Banja Luka, Bosnia is a place we decided to go, primarily because of my good friend being a refugee from Bosnia in the early 1990’s. I have to say it is a beautiful city, but one warning, the locals drink shots that clearly have no place in the bodies of human beings!

Split, Croatia

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 20142 Comments

Split, Croatia is another beautiful city steeped in history. The old town and promenade is gorgeous as are the mazing ferry options to nearby Islands.

Brac, Croatia

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Brač is an island in the Adriatic Sea within Croatia and one of the largest islands in Dalmatia. We went there by ferry and then hired some bikes, got lost (my fault) and had a lovely lunch along the Adriatic. Great little day adventure and well worth it!

Dubrovnik, Croatia

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 20142 Comments

Dubrovnik, Croatia is one of the most picturesque cities in the world and Croatia is perhaps the most scenic of ocean drives you could ever wish to embark upon. We stayed in a gorgeous old building in the old town. The walk around the city and atop the old walls is fantastic and a ferry…

The Monastery of Ostrog, Montenegro

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

The Monastery of Ostrog is one of those peculiar places on earth. The Monastery of Ostrog is a monastery of the Serbian Orthodox Church placed almost inside vertical mountaintop, high up in the large mountain of Ostroška Greda, in Montenegro. It is dedicated to Saint Basil of Ostrog and I had the chance of dropping…

Sveti Stefan, Montenegro

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Sveti Stefan, Montenegro is a lovely little historical island in Montenegro. It is now a private island (shame) hotel style complex with pretty heavy security. The island itself is very small but picturesque.

Kotor, Montenegro

My Archived Travels, Western EuropeBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Kotor, Montenegro is one of the places that has a massive wow factor with an imposing mountain hanging right over the city on the Bay of Kotor. The highlight is a long steep walk to the top of the overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen and the monastery atop
