After spending one night in Nazca, Peru I had another long day riding to Abancay, Peru which is where I would spend only one night and make my way onto Cusco to use as my base for going to Machu Pichu, Peru

It would take me over 9 hours to get to Abancay, Peru taking in around 290 miles (462 kilometers) diving deep into the Andes again and then across the high plains.

The ride was through some sensational mountain ranges, and it got pretty cold as I went up above 15,000 feet.

The ride took me from Nazca, Peru through Huallhua, Santiago de Vado, Puquio, izcahuaca, Cotaruse District, Chalhuanca District, Pampallacta, Tintay District, Pichirhua District and through to my final destination in Abancay, Peru.

I would stay the night at Hotel Amancay.

Hotel Amancay, Abancay, Peru

I came across this place at the last minute. Pretty run down and needs some tender love and care.

The owners were really nice, and the cost was only $30 per night with a decent clean room with a little balcony. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice and strong.

I was able to park my Motorbike securely down below. Was very quiet place just outside of town. The Wifi was pretty poor but usable.

Abancay, Peru

Abancay is a city in Peru’s Apurímac region. In the northeast, the Mirador de Taraccasa lookout offers panoramic views over the city. To the north, the Santuario Nacional Ampay features protected forest sheltering pumas and spectacled bears. Northeast of the city, Sayhuite archaeological complex has stone ruins and an elaborately carved boulder. The Cconoc Thermal Baths lie farther east by the Apurímac River. From Wikipedia
