Sofia, Bulgaria

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

I spent a few days Sofia, Bulgaria after a long road trip from Belgrade Serbia. It is quite an amazing city, great food, beer and very friendly locals. The city is beautiful with a mix of old and new

Belgrade, Serbia

Belgrade, Serbia is a city that has struggled to recover from the war in the early 90’s. The people are friendly and the city has many gorgeous buildings.

Arcadia, Odessa, Ukraine

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

I was told once I arrived in Odessa and wanted a day to relax by my tour guide to go to Arcadia, Odessa, Ukraine. This is a nearby beach resort with different pools and seaside swimming. It is pretty amazing how modern and amazing this place is. A perfect place to relax!

Zagreb, Croatia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

Zagreb is the capital and the largest city of the Republic of Croatia. Situated along the Sava river, at the southern slopes of the Medvednica mountain Zagred has a mix of old and new. We went on a bike tour and discovered some history of not only Zagreb but also the country!

Brezice, Slovenia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 2014Leave a comment

I have to be honest and say the only reason I visited Brezice, Slovenia was to mark Slovenia off as a country I have visited as it wasx so close to Zagreb. We spent a day there and had lunch in Brezice

Banja Luka, Bosnia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 21, 20142 Comments

Banja Luka, Bosnia is a place we decided to go, primarily because of my good friend being a refugee from Bosnia in the early 1990’s. I have to say it is a beautiful city, but one warning, the locals drink shots that clearly have no place in the bodies of human beings!

Riga, Latvia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 20, 2014Leave a comment

Riga, Latvia is an amazing old city with a pretty dark past. The old town is quite small but the city is big enough for a full weeks travel. Make sure you visit the ghettos and parks in and around Riga, Latvia. I took the ghetto bike tour and it was fantastic!

Tallin, Estonia

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 20, 2014Leave a comment

Tallin, Estonia is one of those Medieval Cities and absolutely gorgeous. The old town especially is wonderful and the castles forts and checkered history (always being invaded) makes for wonderful storytelling! Again a bike tour is a must!

Prague, Czech Republic

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 20, 2014Leave a comment

Prague, Czech Republic is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Whether it be the castles, fortresses or just the old town, Prague has something to offer both the younger traveler and seasoned tourist alike. It is one3 of the don’t miss cities of the world!

Budapest, Hungary

Eastern Europe, My Archived TravelsBy Peter J RicciAugust 20, 2014Leave a comment

Budapest is perhaps one of the least visited cities by Westerners in the world and it shouldn’t be. It has so much more to offer than most cities and I count it one of the greatest cities in the world.
