After spending 4 nights in Quito Ecuador, I needed to get back on the road and the 290+ miles (487 kilometres) to Cuenca, Ecuador. The ride would take me deep into the Andes Ranges and would take over 8 hours.
It was so great to get on the road again and driving high up mountains and then deep into the valleys through some spectacular villages on my way to Cuenca was a treat I had been missing for a while.
I would travel through many towns on my journey to Cuenca, such as Machachi, Latacunga Canton, Ambato, Riobamba, Sibambe and Azogues onto my final destination in Cuenca, Ecuador.
Hotel Vargus, Cuenca, Ecuador
Nice modern hotel, is in a decent location about 10 minutes from old city centre. Some rooms have balconies (my room did) with views of the city.
The bathroom was roomy and the beds comfortable and the room spacious. There are also quite a few restaurants and cafe’s nearby. There is a small restaurant cafe on premises with room service.
The WIFI was only basic and needs to be improved for business customers. (resulting in loss of one star). I was able to park my Motorbike in Secure Carpark below.
