After spending a few night relaxing and taking in New Orleans, Louisiana I then headed across the border to Galveston, Texas. This was a really cool ride through wetlands, and although the weather was pretty humid, it was fun stopping off a few times and seeing some alligators and other wetlands wildlife.

By now I had the camera fixed, and my load was considerably lighter thanks to me sending back a few boxes of ‘wants’ back home to Miami Beach.

The end of the trip required me to get a ferry, the Port Bolivar – Galveston Ferry to be precise and this is a free service to get you onto Galveston Island

The trip took me from New Orleans, Louisiana and onto my destination in New Orleans, Louisiana through to Lake Charles, Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge, McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge, Beaumont, Winnie, Stowell, Smith Oaks Sanctuary, Bolivar Peninsula onto Goat Island via the Port Bolivar – Galveston Ferry and onto my destination in Galveston, Texas.

I was now getting used to the riding, packing, riding routine and was getting my stops off into a nice routine. Having a bike I could get on and off with relative ease put a smile on my face, not to mention making it easier to pack and unpack for each day’s ride.

My KTM 1290 Super Adventure was doing well, and the trip took me only just a shade over 8 hours traveling over 360 miles (579 kilometers) and only having a few breaks along the way.

Note: The Rever App quit on me so only less than half the ride was recorded.
