After spending just one night in nights in Tucson, Arizona, I decided to do a detour and head on up to The Grand Canyon and then see how far I could get towards California and crash the night somewhere close to the state line.
I broke the map in two (you will see 2 Rever Maps on the full post. One takes me to the Grand Canyon and the other to my final resting spot in BullHead City.
The Grand Canyon was simply stunning; it is just one of those places everyone must visit at least once in their lifetime. I just wish I could have spent a little more time there. All up, I took about two hours to look around, following a short open tourist bus as I thought they would know all the cold spots and they didn’t disappoint.
This riding day all up took around 10 hours, so it was quite a grueling day, and the temperature changes as the elevation went from 300 meters (900 feet) all up to 1800 meters (nearly 6000 feet), and with rain, it made for quite a days riding.
The trip took me from Tucson, Arizona, Casa Grande, Phoenix, New River, Camp Verde, Kachina Village, Flagstaff, Belmont, Tusayan, The Grand Canyon, Kaibab National Forest, Ash Fork, Seligman, Dunton Ranch, Kingman, The Golden Valley, Laughlin and onto my final destination in Bullhead City, Arizona.
Today’s ride was 550 miles (880 kilometers) but still took me around 10 hours.
